It is highly recommended to use keywords in page titles themselves. This title tag is different from a Meta tag, but it's worth considering it in relation to them. Whatever text one places in the title tag (between the < title > and < / title > portions), it will appear in the title bar of browsers when online users view the web page. Some browsers also add their own information to whatever you put in the title tag by adding their own name, as for example Microsoft's Internet Explorer or OPERA. Read the rest of this entry »

Google posted a considerable growth in the number of searches done in March 2008 over the year, according to the monthly report on search engine shares released by Neilsen-Netratings. Though there is a slight raise in the number of searches done through Yahoo, there is a clear decline in Yahoo search engine market share when compared to March 2007's performance. MSN performed better when compared to previous month and also over the year, both in the market share and the number of searches in March 2008. Read the rest of this entry »

Hi Folks! Okay, so everyone likes to say Yahoo is horrible for PPC marketing. The point here is that it is VERY easy to SAY something without knowing what you are talking about! I have conducted Search Marketing Campaigns for DOZENS of businesses and also DOZENS of affiliate programs, and have found that Yahoo, many times can be AS profitable although they have the shorter reach than Google, and actually MANY times MORE profitable than Google in many cases. This is not ALWAYS the case, but many times it is. Read the rest of this entry »

So, what are they? Well, Black holes are at the center of every known galaxy and are like the eye of a storm. Black holes are immense gravitational wells from which nothing can escape, or at least that's the theory, amended in part by Dr. Hawking a few weeks ago. Read the rest of this entry »

Until recently, there were five major players in the search engine world: Google, MSN, AOL, Ask.com, and the Yahoo! search engine. These top Internet search engines quickly could be narrowed down to four, however; AOL uses the Google algorithm and will yield nearly identical results. Further narrowing is rapidly occurring - Ask.com seems to be stepping out of the spotlight to focus on specific markets, and in early March 2008, Microsoft began attempting to purchase the Yahoo! search engine. Johnny Cash sang an old song that appears most apropos as Microsoft launches a hostile take over attempt of Yahoo. The song reminisced about Martin, Abraham and John. Asking the question wondered about all deceased, 'where have my old friends gone?'. As the computerman lay sleepless on his bed after hearing the news he pondered the possibilities, being an old U.S. Army Intel Officer taps even played in his head.We can all hope that like Mark Twain, Yahoo will be able to answer in the end that the reports and fears of my death have been greatly exaggerated. In the meantime, however, the inflated price in cash and stock that Microsoft has offered Yahoo stock holders will be hard to resist. Read the rest of this entry »

Update Microsoft went public Friday with a $44.6 billion cash-and-stock bid to acquire Yahoo. In its response, Yahoo called the Microsoft bid “unsolicited†but did not reject it. Microsoft’s offer, which was contained in the letter to Yahoo’s board, amounts to $31 a share and represents a 62 percent premium over Yahoo’s closing price on Thursday. Microsoft said it will offer shareholders the option of cash or stock. “We have great respect for Yahoo, and together, we can offer an increasingly exciting set of solutions for consumers, publishers, and advertisers while becoming better positioned to compete in the online-services market,†Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said in a statement. The big news in the world wide web is the proposed purchase of Yahoo by Microsoft for a stunningly large amount of money. If you consider obtaining organic search engine rankings part of your marketing, the question is what this means to you. 44 billion dollars. Any way you cut it, that is a lot of mulla.
