GATEWAY PAGES
What constitutes a successful commercial web site?
There are three minimum requirements:
* High Traffic Statistics
* High Search Engine Positioning, by defined keywords
* High contribution to revenue stream
Ideally, the elements needed to accomplish the above objectives can be contained within the web site design and technical blueprint. However, given the variables of Search Engine indexing and the numbers of desired keywords often targeted, the web site cannot successfully meet all three objectives. Fortunately, there are a number of options available for consideration, the most popular being Gateway Pages.
Gateway pages are sometimes referred to as Doorway Pages or Bridging Pages. These are specially constructed, stand-alone pages that will provide a direct path to a web site. Their purpose is to increase the odds that a web site will be quickly found, under various search word phrases, chosen by surfers on Major Search Engines. The links on Gateway pages all lead to the main web site.
When designed properly, it is often difficult to spot a Gateway page. By limiting the design of each Gateway Pages to target one or two very specific keywords or keyword phrases, the indexing on search engines may be positively influenced.
“Your firm’s exceptionally successful promotion of our customers’ sites, always in a very timely manner, has been most rewarding. Your ability to continuously gain very impressive “placement” on the major search engines and directories, for those sites, has greatly enhanced their success.
