Content is King for Search Engine Optimization

There are plenty of tips and tricks out there for people who want to optimize their websites, get them to the front page of Google and drive more interested traffic to their sites. Those tips and tools are helpful, as is attending search engine workshops and working with Internet marketing consultants who can help fine-tune what you're doing to make your site shine on the search engines.

But no clever trick or website optimization strategy is going to work for you if you don't have what the search engine spiders, and, of course, your site's visitors, are actually looking for: plenty of great content on your subject.

Whether you're launching a new website or are looking for a traffic bump for an established site, the best thing you can do is fill your pages with quality content, properly optimized for keywords people who are visiting your site are likely to search for.

This search engine optimization strategy doesn't work instantly, but it does work wonders for your traffic if you can consistently build up good content in your niche that people can rely on.

You need to establish yourself as the expert in your field and your website as the go-to place for information on that subject. Not only will you optimize for the most popular keywords in your area of expertise, you'll also have pages that point to keywords that aren't as popular, proving to the search engines and your readers that you really know your stuff and cover everything someone would need to know about your subject.

This sort of search engine optimization is best for patient people, but it does work over time to bring qualified readers to your site. These are people who not only are interested in the information on your site, but who would be willing to pay you for more information on the subject.

Some web experts say that you need as many as 1,000 pages of content before you become firmly established at the top of the rankings for all your keywords. That sounds like an awful lot of work, and it is, but if you use your website like a blog (or even add a blog to your website) and add some new content almost every day, it won't be long before you start seeing the benefits of this easy and free search engine optimization strategy.
